Clear way-finding enhances customer experience.
Sentara needed an entrance graphic (above) and wayfinding to match existing signage (left below.)
Exact materials match and fire code specifications were required.
Original front sign in disrepair; lights defective, unreadable from road, directions confusing.
New sign fully resolved wayfinding and visibility issue.
BEFORE
AFTER
Building identification numbers were too small and unclear; replaced with 3D raised, large numbers.
Suite signs were added, with color logos for easy tenent identification.
Front sign was now clear at 1000 feet to Independence blvd. All sign clarity issues resolved.
When it opened, Nauticus had no real wayfinding program. Disorientation affected visitor experience.
A full comprehensive wayfinding system helped make Nauticus revitalization a success.
Instead of fabricating the sign out of expensive bronze plating, the elements in the logo were designed to be made like a surfboard. Carved out of polystyrene, and then overlaid with nylon mesh and resin, the exterior was then painted with an exterior metalized epoxy. Not only was the sign light and easy to mount, and lasted twenty years, it beat the original bronze estimate by $17,000.00. The client was quite pleased.
